Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She started her career in the field at four by performing voice overs and commercials. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). She then moved on to The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" A child who was discovered in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah would be working alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") a few more times: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the younger Audrey Hepburns. The following year, she was a part in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), with Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould’s Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Alongside her work in television and film, Sarah studied voice, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed in her Theatre and tap dance class at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born in New York and raised there, Sarah spent much of her time working in television, film, and voicing many radio ads as well as travelling with her father, Edward James Hyland, while he worked at many different theaters in the country. Her mother was her caregiver until she reached the age of two years of age. Then she went to public school. In 6th Grade she was admitted to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in 2008. Sarah at the time was 18, moved to Los Angeles, CA, after which she became in the air with the name "My American Family". The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was chosen). As of now, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has received numerous awards, most notably the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
