Thora Birch

Thora Birch (born March 11, 1982) is an American actress and producer. Her debut in film was Purple People Eater (1988) and she won the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Artistress under nine years of age". Birch was a big star when she was when she was a child actor as she appeared in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999, she was nominated for an BAFTA nomination. The following year, she was a part-time actress in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for playing the lead character in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story. Her other films include Dungeons & Dragons (2000), The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009), and Petunia (2012).After taking a break from acting, Birch returned to her acting career in the year 2016 and has since been in numerous independent films. Birch was also in the role of Whisperer Maryand Gamma in The Walking Dead's season 10. Birch was Jack Birch's eldest son was born in Los Angeles. Birch her family's initial surname was Biersch, is of German-Jewish, Scandinavian, French-Canadian and Italian origins. [6] Thora is her birth name. It derives from the Norse god Thor thunder and lightning. If it were a boy, that would be her full name. She has a younger brother, Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents were former film actors, both of whom were in the film Deep Throat. Based on their own experiences in the entertainment field it was difficult for them at first to encourage Thora. But, her photograph was viewed by agents when a babysitter had seen her mimic commercials. Her first break came at age four after her babysitter brought her along to auditions for a Quaker Oats commercial.
