Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September 1973) is an American
actress and activist. McGowan's debut film appearance was in the comedic Encino
Man (1992), but she gained greater recognition for her role in The Doom
Generation (1995), where she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination as
Best Debut Performance. Her breakout role came in the horror film Scream in the
year 1996. She then headlined the film Jawbreaker (1999) as well as Devil in
the Flesh (2000). In the early 2000s, McGowan became known to TV viewers for
her character as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed
(2001-2006). McGowan was also the main character in Quentin Tarantino and
Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) which for which she
received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and the Scream
Award as Best Scream Queen. She appeared in the action-thriller series Chosen
(2014) and released her debut album, Planet 9, in 2018. It was followed by a
second repackaging in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as one of the Silence
Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017. She made a statement
against sexual assault and harassment and , in particular, the Harvey Weinstein
sexual abuse cases. Brave is her memoir. Citizen Rose was her documentary
series. Both of these were released in 2018.
